Infertility Treatment

Turning your dream into your miracle

Infertility is a medical condition that affects both men and women, making it difficult for couples to conceive. For some, fertility treatments may be the only way to achieve their dream of becoming parents.

If you’re considering fertility treatment, we want you to know that you’re not alone — every year, thousands of couples like you choose to pursue fertility treatment, and many go on to have healthy babies.

What is infertility?

Infertility is when a male or female cannot conceive due to a problem with the reproductive system of either partner. The main symptom is an inability to get pregnant. In many cases, there are no additional symptoms.

Infertility can be primary or secondary. Primary infertility is when someone is not able to conceive at all. Secondary infertility is when someone has previously conceived but is no longer able to.

Doctors generally define infertility as not conceiving after 12 months of regular sexual intercourse without the use of birth control.

Causes Of Infertility

What are the probable causes of infertility?

Society assumes that when a couple cannot conceive, the issue primarily lies with the woman. This is not true. Infertility can occur both in men and women. We encourage couples to get help together and walk the journey as one.

Causes in Men

Problems with semen and sperm

Treatment for infertility depends on the underlying cause. Sometimes, we may recommend fertility drugs to increase sperm production or overcome hormone imbalances. In other instances, we may be required to perform surgery to remove blockages in the reproductive tract. Besides that, assisted reproductive technologies (ART), such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), may be an option we take.

Environmental factors, such as exposure to certain chemicals or excessive heat
Problems with the reproductive organs (such as blockages or infections)
Health conditions, such as diabetes or cancer
Hormonal imbalances
Genetic disorders

Causes in Women

Problems with ovulation

About 25 per cent of all cases of female infertility are due to problems with ovulation. Ovulation is the process where the ovary releases an egg each month. If this doesn’t happen, then a woman can’t get pregnant.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

PCOS is a hormonal disorder that can interfere with ovulation. It’s one of the most common causes of female infertility.

Endometriosis

This is a condition where the tissue that lines the uterus grows outside of the uterus. This can cause pain, heavy bleeding, and other problems. It can also make it difficult to get pregnant.

Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)

PID is an infection of the reproductive organs. It can damage the fallopian tubes, ovaries, or uterus. This can make it difficult or impossible to get pregnant.

Uterine fibroids

Fibroids are non-cancerous growths in the uterus. They can cause pain, heavy bleeding, and other problems. In some cases, they can make it difficult to get pregnant.

Age

A woman’s fertility starts to decline in her early 30s. This decline speeds up around age 35. By age 45, a woman’s chance of getting pregnant is very low.

Infertility Can Occur in Both Men and Women

How do you accertain between the man and the woman who is infertile?

Regardless of the cause of infertility, it can be a challenging and emotional issue. If you have trouble conceiving, you must talk to your doctor about your options. There is help available, and you shouldn’t feel like you’re alone in this.
